A Survey on the Sanitary Status of Sauna Dock

Abstract
|
|
|
Author carried out this sanitary survey on Sauna Dock located in Seoul, Korea. during the three months from June to September. 1969.
The main purposes of this study was to find out the sanitary problems in these public utilities, especially in the point of view of public health following findings were obtained
1. The general ranges of the ambient temperature in Sauna Dock were from 85-100℃ and only in one place, the temperature showed more than 100℃.
2. Most of the place, the steam was employed as a heating method.
3. About one fourth of the Sauna Dock surveyed was lacking in the establishment of safety measures such as a observation window and a emergency alarm system.
4. The most of the utilizer were occupied by relatives wealthy social class and main purpose of the utilization were as follows in order:
1) Recovery from physical fatigue.
2) Weight control.
3) Control of Hypertension.
4) Neurolgia.
5) Respiratory illness.
6) Digestive disorder.
f) Dermatitis.
